AN 'EYESORE' mountain of used tyres on greenbelt land in Cranford is set to be levelled after complaints from residents.
Councillors last month agreed to take enforcement action against the owners of an illegal car wash and tyre shop on Rectory Farm, in Bath Road.
Hounslow Council is due to issue an enforcement notice shortly giving traders three months to shut up shop or face possible legal action.
"I've lived here for 40 years and remember when the land was used as a vegetable farm," [one woman] told the Chronicle. "It's so sad seeing it like this. The pile of tyres is such an eyesore and a hazard too. If some kids were to set it alight they'd have to close Heathrow due to the smoke.

At least Heathrow was unaffected but couldn't someone have acted a tad sooner? ::) ::) ::)

did they really think that a illegal site would remove the tyres?
