Hi,
Have at last got round to doing auto box oil and filter change. Fuchs Titan 4000 as recommended. About the last of the TLC jobs now done.
Despite shower and hair wash, still aroma of ATF fluid. Clothes washed, now washing machine also stinks of it.
Just do not get the logic of no drain plug. So what if oil change is not in maintenance schedule, it may need draining. I don't drain my central heating very often, but it's got a drain point !!
As for having to fill it with engine running. Surely it cannot be impossible to put a level plug at point for level cold and stopped. They do for the engine, so whats the problem ??
OK moan over. Just very glad to find old oil still red and clear and no burnt smell, sumps nice and clean inside and no bits in the small sump.
Don't suppose I shall ever do enough miles to need to do it again though.

in the old sennys the ar35 had a dipstick for checking the level and iirc this was also used for filling as well, dunno why they didnt carry it over to the mig.-lack of space perhaps :-/

When I changed my ATF I'd done really well & didn't spill a drop untill I came to refilling the bugger. I filled mine via a tube running up to the engine bay & a funnel. All was well untill the tube came out of the side of the 'box. :( :y

Nope the box is comin out next weekend with the help from Kevin wood and Pat.
should get it done in a day easy everything has been distrubed before so should be quite easy.
i am going to attempt to get as much of the little jobs done before they arrive to help speed up the process.
