stupid or good driver?
-
Both, but more of the former

WRECKless more by luck than judgement I think ;)

Pair of looooonies!! Dangerous stuff. :o
-
Stupidity - any one of those cars or lorries could have switched lanes and caused a horrendous accident. Not even the best driver can predict when someones going to change lanes at that speed, especially with the number of folk on the road who don't use their mirrors.

...and heres another

Speed doesn't kill, inappropriate speed and driving like a berk kills. And if you're driving a more capable car than the person next to you... you should be using it appropriately, not decreasing your safety margin "because the car can take it/ there's loads of grip/ the brakes are excellent"...
On topic, the Audi-BMW video - the technical skill and car control of the drivers is obviously very high, but it's not appropriate driving for any public road. You need to have a little in reserve, and always, always, have a potential escape route.
-
ABSOLUTE LUNACY, simple as that
why the hell would anyone who drives a BMW M5 buy such a CRAP camera?
-
out and out idiots :P
-
no matter how good u are , speed kills..
when the moment comes no brakes , no driving skills and no strong
engine can save you..
-
I used to do silly things like this like this many years ago & it is a buzz but it's not only your life you're risking.I soon found out i you want to be silly take up Banger Racing.
I did for 4/5 years. Best place for that sort of driving.
-
total lunacy, both of those vid clips show drivers who are at the limit, one wrong move and a lot of people suffer.
The other problem stems from the viewers, look at the number of hits these vids get, people see this and then try and emulate it, however the people who do this sometimes have a far lesser ability and so either kill themself of some other innocent soul......
I would love to see some sort of control on the likes of youtube, there is far too much on there that encourages people to carry out stupid/illegal acts.....
-
first vid f ing stupid could end in death quite easily i don`t think they are the skilled drivers i think everyone around them were any fool can`t drive a quick car in a straight line.!!!
second vid less traffic more open road still stupid but not as bad as first vid drivers are alot more skilled.IMO
-
I thing is stupid driving like them two, but some country have no limit on motorway and many people drive fast like 100-150 mph
-
I,m sorry people this might upset you ;D ;D but that was some very good if not Excellent driving, if the two drivers was coppers then every body would be saying the same as me, but they are not, and yes speed does kill :o, so don't be stupid, don't take any, stay away from drugs, they cost to much ;D ;D ;D
-
If they were "coppers" they wouldn't have been driving like that, regardless of the urgency of their pursuit.
Regardless of their actual skill level, which could be high, or just average - we don't know, they were driving with no margin for error whatsoever.
A racing driver might drive with very slim margins for error and weigh up the possibility of contact against winning, but that's in controlled circumstances, with medical support available and in the company of others who are willingly accepting the same risks.
It is simply not acceptable to do the same on a crowded motorway full of people who only want to get home safely.

Did they CRASH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The perfect end to them videos would be big crash but where noone else is hurt/killed/involved, rather idiots

Did they CRASH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should we only take action upon dangerous driving when it results in a collision? As KW has said, there's simply no margin for error - if someone pulls across without looking, which we all know happens with a regularity approaching inevitability.
I refer you to my earlier post - the technical skill of the drivers is excellent - notice how the following car takes a different route, rather than following blindly - but good driving on public roads isn't about handling skills and reaction time, its about attitude and safety margins. Safe, systematic, smooth, brisk progress with a bit of sparkle - not balls-out driving expecting every single other road user to do the right thing.
no matter how good u are , speed kills..

How do you define a safe speed to travel at? Are speed limits always an appropriate speed to travel at?
It's not the speed which is the problem here, its the red mist and the belief that every other road user is a model driver. All driving carries an element of risk, the objective of traffic law, and the enforcement thereof, is to minimise that risk. This simply cannot be done with speed limits alone. There are hundreds of factors that make a safe driver, sadly the overreliance on speed enforcement is aimed at protecting the average driver from themselves. If 95% of drivers on one road are travelling within 115% of the limit, that's a fairly level playing field. Throw two lunatics like those shown here into the mix, and that's when it can all go wrong...

Dont get me started ..... ;)

very well put pete, speed in itself doesnt kill (i was doing 150 on weds. on a private track and i didnt die ) stupid driving kills.if your only safety margin is ,relying on everyone else not to make a mistake then you are an accident waiting to happen imo.
-
They may have showed considerable skill in their driving, but they were being very stupid.
They were cutting other drivers up to the point that a less skilled driver could very easily reacted (braked/veered) in a way so as to cause an accident.
This sort of thing is great on a racetrack, but motorways and other roads are for ferrying real live people around on. If someone had cut me up like that I would have gone mental, even more so as there is a high probabaility that my daughter would be in my car!
People who drive in a way that does not respect what might happen to others around them really anger me.

stupid or good driver?
Absolutely fxxxing stupid, idiotic, suicidal and of course totally illegal!
I have personnally driven at high speed on business, including 150 mph in a 3.0 Omega Elite on the M40 on a number of ocassions, but ALWAYS when the motorway was very clear, and NEVER when it was congested with other vehicles as in the film. Those other cars would have had families or fathers/mothers/grandparents in them and could easily become fatally involved in any accident.
This type of driving just is not on and to endanger somebodies else's life cannot ever be justified! Even a police 'A' driver would not attempt to do this.

I cannot for the life of me even begin to understand the mentality of
a) those idiots
b) the folks who think they were clever
c) the folks "in charge" who allow such stuff to be shown
It is beyond me ... completely....
