Really, what is the point in this service? "Ordered" 2 bike carriers to be collected from their Chiswick store, went along in my lunch break, went a little like this:
Me - "Order number is bla"
Halfords - "What are you collecting?"
Me - "Should the order number not tell you that? - But if it helps, bike carriers"
Halfords - "let me just collect form, and items"
Meanwhile I wonder about, see her walk over to carriers section with bit of paper
Halfords - "Sorry I can't find them, let me find someone"
Odd I think, so I walk over, straight away I spot them, pick them up. Just as she comes over with the manager.
Me - "Found them"
Halfords - "oh yeah, here they are"
Really what is the feking point!? - I reserved the items yesterday, plenty of time to pick them & put them ready for collection. Do they only employ morons? :-\
On the up side, online price £19.99, in store, £44.99 :o

Do they only employ morons ?............in my experience, definitely. :y

Im my experience, the items are put in or near a cage by the checkout, ready and waiting with the order slip taped to it, maybe there not up to speed yet at your local one.
:-\

Never had trouble myself, but frequently 'cancelled' the order on collection, and just took the items to checkout and paid as a normal trade customer. Esp on tools and service items, where trade is often cheaper than online deals.

On a separate note, I've been after the 150 pc socket set for a while, just waiting for the offer. Yesterday it was £149.99 and now its £199.99
Feel sorry for those who buy it at that price.

A friend of mine is waiting for the same deal, He's been told probably Xmas will be the next time round.
The 170 piece is still at 129.00 at the moment though, not sure what they come at on Trade.

Need one before then ideally. Don't have a trade card either, do you?
-
Last 150pc I bought was £94 trade, though that was a couple of years back (it was the last of the 'old style' 150pc sets).

Back in the late seventies I worked at Halfords.....so....... ::) ::) ;)
-
the best way to buy stuff from halfords at the moment is to go to morrisons and buy gift cards of them that saves you moneyon fuel then order through top cashback and save a bit more.
when the tools are on offer the trade card dosnt work.

On the whole the local halfords have been quite good here and helpful to the tune on my last visit pointed me to a cheapest option flatblade set that perform just as good as the most expensive :)

When I checked it was £126 trade. Not much of a saving really.

I have often thought the same myself, but if you take a step back and consider that the employee in question is more than likely on minimum wage then it really shouldn't come as a surprise when you find yourself dealing with a brain dead (and possibly inbred) fu*ktard who doesn't give a toss whether you get true customer service or not.

All the prices seem a bit steep now
