Title: Ride height

Ok, now that the S/L suspension is as it should be again and the bits put back that the last pratt took off and replaced with standard shocks etc I need to know on a level surface what the distance should be from the rear wheel arch edge to the ground. Its a 1999 (V) 3.0 Elite saloon auto with alloy 17" rims and 135/45/17 tyres.
At the moment it appears to be riding high and both of the level sensors are working as they should. It used to be 26.0 inches with the standard shocks on, now it is 27.75.
Rides very nice though so I'm ;D again.  :y

Mines sits at 675mm from ground through center of wheel to underside of rear arch and has done so since new S/L shocks and s/l KYB raer springs were fitted around 18months ago.

Might be worth releasing the air from both shocks by removing the air line..allowing to settle and then reconnecting and letting the pump do its thing.Might just need almost a recharge if you understand.

Well at least the ride height has not dropped overnight so that means no leaks.
I have never altered the level sensors so it must have been the previous idiot who had tried probably to adjust for  air leaks from the sleeves. Sadly that pillock has caused all sorts of problems with his shortcuts and bodges which I am glad to say I am now almost on the top of. 
I do know that the lever when removed from its link arm and activated does adjust the height both up and down showing that the system is working correctly.
Amba seems to have given me some good advice so I will release all the air and then re-measure the height. If its out I will then adust it to the measurements given and if it looks right and level then it must be. At the moment it has its *rse in the air like its waiting for a bendy to give it one  ;D :D ;)
Easy Sunday morning job I reckon, then its the usual wash and polish before the sun gets out.

When I had issues with the rear end getting highre and higher I traced it back to the pump in the front wheel arch not releasing pressure when stopped and ignition off.

It was in effect just adding more air each time and I had measurements of 725mm which made it look like a 70,s Hot Rods.I ended up also replacing the entire pump as the release valve part of it was knackered.

Thing first step would be to get an accurate measurement through wheel centre /ground to arch.Then release both air pipes from each shock and let it completely discharge.Connect all back up and start and see what hight it goes to,then switch off and see if it releases air and drops down.I would imagine a drop of around 25mm or so is about right so use that as a gauge.Then start again and see if it returns to 675mm or similar,if so problem resolved.If not and getting higher readings from height then would investigate pump first to ensure it is releasing.Don,t really think the little arms will stop it from releasing air pressure.
