Post by: omegod on 10 September 2012, 07:20:22
Advertised my mother in laws 02 Daewoo matiz on Gumtree yesterday and the bloody phone has not stopped ringing with cranks, first one was an aggressive asian chap offering £300 and wanting me to bring it to him, nope! second was a woman wanting me to keep it for 3 weeks till she got paid without a deposit, nope! third was someone again offering £300 and wanting to know if it was HPI clear!! FFS it's a £400 car with MOT and 32k!

Just waiting for someone to request it gets new tyres , full service, new clutch and a full tank of fuel for £300 ::) >:(

I have been suffering the same problem on ebay - selling my older jet ski at the moment for the 3rd time due to non-paying bidders, but the messages offering you stupidly low money is so annoying, also the manners of some people when they message you is quite appalling.  It seem the norm these days I'm afraid.

Heard the phrase "Scumtree" batted around . Seems to have some substance to it.

I have also been informed that the adverts are most prominent during the Jeremy Kyle show.

I love thse little Matiz, hired one on holiday a couple of years ago. Fun little motor, I would have it as a commute car if I had spare cash

It did make me think that it may have suited someone on here with it being a bit of a bargain and all. It is a bit sad that long term members can't offer other stuff to fellow members but as always..Where do you draw the line??
