It's not a problem we generally have  :'( :'( :'( :'( especially this summer. When it's not been raining, it's been piddling it down!  :( :(

its the primer used in ships, very resistant, seals from water completely.. even stones cant chip it..

tested it many times and took my approval :y

definitely .. I recommend it..

apply 2-3 layers , but you need to wait 10-15 minutes between layers .. (but weather must not be rainy)

it will only insulate the roof from water and protect from stones.. there are other stages that require time and effort..

base paint which is directional white with added car color.. than sanding and final coat and laquer.. another week I'll be busy I think :-\

I must admit omega scares me :-\   the current paint on it is really thick and I estimate every part will take 2-3 days..  :o

I'm not sure my muscles can handle this..  :-\  and painters cant keep the car for that long time as space is limited..

I have an idea.. call close members and share the price .. a 6 kg (4litre) epoxy pack is enough for whole OOF members ;D

besides you can use also on home (I did results excellent) doors that are subject to rain :y

hmm..I experienced a whole year with an already opened bottle.. (hardener may not survive that long)

and unopened botlle may survive very long.. opened bottles/cans depend on the bottle and room temperature imo..

and interesting experience; last time when I painted the home door there was some extra mixture left with hardener already in it.. it kept nearly 25 days without hardening.. spec sheet says expoxy application above 12 celcius.. this must be reason for late hardening imo..

opps ???

you can apply it in good weather (not rainy and above 12 celcius) and at an avg temperature of 18 celcius it will dry in first 16 hours but for it to be complete (not soft) you need 2-3 days.. I assume you apply 3 layers.. :y

use some mask..

Usual rear lower door corners and wheel arches + a few scars , tbh it needs the bottom half up respraying and was thinking maybe a diy job up to the middle door trims in a different colour ... seen it done before but will look further into it  :)

this scratch resistent laquer is better than the original laquer.. I estimate it will keep up at leat 6-7 years.. And I'm not sure I will keep this car that long.. so the buyer will be lucky :)

for those interested in scratch resistent laquer application:

its applied with late hardener 3:1 ratio.. (3 laquer 1 hardener by volume)

no thinner added.. but still dries very late and can easily flow..

for that reason a pre application for original color coat must be applied to close the surface before actual painting session..

must be applied before the last paint coat dries .. then 2 layers of tiny "dusting" of laquer .. wait 15-20 minutes (this is in cabin temp of at least 30-35 celcius.. then heavy slow spraying of last coat until the surface become mirror like..

man well done! that's one hell of alot of work for a clit, to stop the dust and overspray settling do you not leave the ventilation fans running in the paint cabin whilst drying?

ventilation fans are stopped after few minutes.. we need to stop because we have to apply heat for some time.. but specific to this laquer case (as I'm afraid of that it can flow at higher temperatures) we apply only 20 minutes.. and then the car stayed in the cabin until next day morning.. I always prefer to take appointment for the last car painted, otherwise you can never guess what will happen when you take a freshly painted car outside..

car now is initially sanded (morning) , waited another day under sun and polished night time.. dusts ( a few) are removed..

now will wait for 10-15 days for the paint to loose its gloss which means surface hardened and dried completely  then will be polished again..
