Title: 8 yrs ago tomorrow.....
Post by: Marie on 15 September 2012, 21:41:03
.........I technically died after having an emergency C section bringing my little monster into the world. :y

While hes sat opening his pressies ill be quietly thinking to myself how lucky i am to be here and how much i owe to those who looked after me for days on end and supported the hubby when he was told they might not be able to save me or the baby.  The special care baby unit took my boy in and looked after him when i couldnt  :y

makes you think when something so natural can be so dangerous.

Love him to bits though and wouldnt change it!! :y :y :y

I'm glad that all had turned out well for you and your now, not so little boy.  :y :y :y :y

Yes, sadly child birth is fraught with dangers. Unfortunately, about 1 in 200 babies are stillborn or die in their first year, very often with no causes found.  :'( :'(

Glad it all ended well for you Marie, my wife had 2 C sections, the first an emergency one and the second was elective. But after the first problem it was offered to her. The first one whilst an emergency was not as bad as what you all went through.

Although I don't remember I'm told they had my boy out of me within 7 minutes.  :y hubby said it was amazing how scarly quick they were. I was lucky though had a plastic surgeon stitch me up. Can't see the scar any more

That 7Mins from it all going belly up.  :y :y

Over 21 years ago my daughter was born by emergency c section. Was told that she would have not survived if they had waited another hour. 6 weeks premature and only 6 pound it took about 10 weeks before she was ok.

Here she is now with my grandson

9 Years ago my son had to be delivered by a required, but none emergency, c section as he was in a "prone" position and the cord was in a knot around his throat

Here he is now, again with grandson

Had fun and games with my lad  :(

He thought it would be a good idea to wrap himself up in his own cord for the last 2 1/2 months and restricting the blood supply to himself.
Spent the last 6 weeks traveling to the hostpital every other day for a scan.
Come full term plus 2 weeks, the little git was that comfy in there that he decided he didn't want to come out.  And that was after the missus had been induced twice  :o

Next thing we know, he's had enough and wants out but he was getting that stressed in there the quacks got the carving knife out and out he came in about 10 minutes  :)
He weighed in at a massive 5 pound 2 ounces.

The missus has never forgiven me because the anasetic never worked properly so she was ripping holes in my hand because she was in that much pain................ Me, I was giggleing like window licker and cracking dirty jokes with the theatre staff  ;D ;D ;D
Nearly 17 years down the line, i' still in the sh*t for that   ::) ;D
