Hello all
I was wondering if someone may give me some advice please. On a recent trip in the Omega i started losing alot of coolant and had to keep topping it up. On investigation when i got home the plate covering the oil cooler had a big hole in it. Replaced the plate and sealed it all up,then topped.up the coolant, put the heater on max and after awhile topped it up to its correct level. Took the car for a test drive and found the temp gauge not going up. When i stopped at som traffic lights the temp gauge all of a sudden went up to 100 with the red warning light coming on. Once started off again the gauge dropped down to 0,nothing inbetween. Checked the level of the coolant once home and although it was abit low it was nothing drastic. Topped it up again and started the car, let it warm up but the gauge still reads 0. Have i got an airlock in the system which may be causing the gauge to give incorrect readings or is there another problem somewhere. No coolant is leaking out. The car is the V6 2.6 Omega.
Thanks

Oil cooler plate is located in the middle of the V, below the injection manifold :y
