Title: Cash Back Site question
Post by: Vamps on 16 September 2012, 21:18:44
Following a suggestion by a fellow member I have set up an account with a cash back site, can't loose I guess.. ::) ::)  My question is that it is asking for my bank details, or paypal to pay money into....is this normal? think I will use my paypal account as we buy quite a lot of ebay so handy having some money sitting in it...........just topped it up with £250 as well, typical.. ::) ::)

Pretty certain the site I currently use did not ask for any details until I needed to transfer from cashback site to one of my accounts.

I think it is part of setting up my profile, so it is normal then when I have some money built up.... :y

If it's the site I mentioned earlier Mike, then yes. Some Companies will only pay cashback via BACS directly into your bank account, whilst others will pay into a Paypal account. :y

Just a thought Mike, you mentioned earlier you had just 'topped up' your Paypal account with X amount of £'s?
In my humble opinion, that is a no - no these days as if any scally manages to  hack into your account, any money in there is gone for good! If you register a credit card to your account, you can pay for all/any goods using that and have the extra protection that the card company AND Paypal affords if a fraudulent transaction/s take place. As Entwood would say...Just my thoughts...nowt else! ;D ;)

Topped up with a debit card, should I be using a credit card, regardless of topping up???? I am aware of instant charge, just like to keep some money in there, always have, usually from a sale though.... :-\ :-\

Agreed. Paypal are useless at supporting you if your account gets hacked etc. I only use Paypal if absolutely nothing else works.

In response to the OP, Topcashback are safe and secure. You only need to use your bank account details if you want to be paid by BACS. However some merchants only pay cashback via BACS and not paypal.

I gave up with the car insurance, they may give a cash back but it seems to be added to the premium, short on time I went with 1st Central for the Mig...£235 for the basic premium with 2 drivers and business for her, fully comp......... :) :)

I've used Topcashback before in the past - though my account 'disappeared' (hmm!) with money left in it.. and now on the new account I've signed up for cashback never seems to appear (I've tried using Firefox, Chrome, Safari as browsers on three separate transactions for three separate retailers).. Bah.
