Title: 2.2cd auto running temperature.
Post by: gpenny07931 on 17 September 2012, 20:28:38
Can anybody advise me on what the normal running temperature is. And what it should not go above. Thanks.

Generally they sit around the middle of the gauge, what does yours do?

Stays around the middle but rises to just under 100 occasionally then goes back down again. Just wondering if this is normal?

My temp gauge on 2.2 runs around the middle and in traffic rises up to low 90s then fans cut in......dont want to put the mockers on it but when rose up to that the head gasket popped without any warning....ask a friendly garage to test the water in the header tank with the fluid tester that will give you the answer to any head problems.. :y

Hi mine sits at a happy 90 normaly but if sitting it will go up to the panic point then the fans kick in and all is fine!! Only takes seconds for temp to drop :)

On facelift dash, 85 is the middle. Mine (2.2) sits here most of the time, occasionally raising to 90.

If a 2.2 is hitting close to 100 on facelift dash, thats a little too warm  :)

Coolant history, rad flowing ok? Fan coming on?
