Title: Anybody been to WIM recently ?
Post by: Paddy Flannery on 18 September 2012, 17:18:27
Were you happy with your visit ?

I'm booked in next week and looking through previous posts, there are conflicting posts re how car felt afterwards, steering wheel not straight etc.....

Steering wheel not straight, only a certain large fat man has had that  ::)  ;D

I personally have been very happy after every visit, corners on rails afterwards, wheel bang in the centre.

Are you going to Chesham? I've only use that one...

I had steering wheel pointing the wrong way. After the second visit I have given up and trying other avenues to solve my steering issues.

Voluptuous? Good lord. ;D

Yes it is common, believe it or not. Seemed to be a problem at the rear setting up a slight crab on the car. If the rear track rods are seized and they can't (won't) adjust the rear track rods then the front can be as cock on as you like, the steering will be off.

Plus gas your track rods, and don't let them fob you off with the seized track rods story. Make them get the heat out. :y

I rate WIM very, very highly. They did my Geo and 4 x tyres this Feb. Unbeatable price, and drives spot on since. Covered well over 10k on them and still handles as well! :)

Never got my steering wheel straight on either Omega I have owned.

Steeering didn't feel any different on the way home on either car.

Actually, not too bad, slight pull to right, possibly camber pull. Steering wheel dead straight again when going in a straight line, so that was amount of bush play...

I see your logic on bush play v steering wheel, but there's too many other variables to say for sure, no?  But anyway, good job.:y

Given some of the stresses its been under, such as potholes (Grand Canyon, eat your heart out) and bridges, I know its highly likely to be pissed as a fart.

Unrelated, but caught exhaust/bumper on a shitty speed bump in MK the other day, not done the bumper any favours  >:(.

3 big jacks, a load of axle stands and box of tools in the boot did not help!
