as some of you know I'm working for govt as a programmer.. my IT department nowadays trying to take ISO standard..
so they are trying highest measures of security and others.. :-\ :-\ to me which means torture as we also have to change the way things are done.. I'm responsible from 25 different departments alone and every year beginning I have to do lots of calculation and database operations.. now this db operations must be done by another one according to rules which he has already no time :-\ apart from these ridiculous security measures the iso organisation is testing us in various ways..
now the tragic part..
today when I visited toilet room, 3 cleaning firm workers were outside the window , cleaning the windows as you can guess.. but without any safety rope.. ??? :o b*llocks >:( we are wasting money for nothing :(
-
Now Cem, you work on the ground floor...is rope really needed ;) ;D

safety regs have gone overboard!
used to know a guy who serviced those big air con units on the roof of hospitals and the like,
as he had to work within a given distance from the edge on this one job, he had to wait for people to come to erect a safety rail....
here is the odd part,
he had to climb over the rail to get to the side of the unit he needed to work on
even though he had safety harness and tether.
he wasnt too bothered, had to take a 2 hour break while wating for the guys to come put the rail up
