Title: Full Beam Issue
Post by: Joiner on 20 September 2012, 16:27:56
Hi all,

Couple of weeks ago I developed an alternator problem where the regulator failed and my system was copping a full 18v. Now the alternator and battery have been replaced and all seems well however since this incident my full beam has stopped working. I have checked the fuses and they are both fine. Also the blue light in the dash for when flashing someone or putting full beam on works fine, you just get no full beam.

All other lights/systems etc are working fine, just full beam thats a problem at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Cheers  :y

As said .. fuses .. or maybe even bulbs ?? Main beam bulbs might have blown due to overvoltage ??

I agree with you because it can be happen when your vehicle got over-voltage it can do that. Sometime it burn the fuses and bulbs and sometime it do his work and you cannot observe that because there is no damage on the fuses. so please try to change the fuses and then tel me you problem solved or not.

To be honest, no I havent. Only because the blade fuse casings are transparent and the fuses are still intact and unburnt.

If fuses ok, check the bulbs next mate - remove them and put 12v across the contacts (briefly - hold by the metal location only) ;)
