Thanks RobG for the link   :y

However, the link posted is for the common failure of the software on the CCR2006 which gives CDC SAFE whereas your message of CD SAFE would suggest that you have an external changer looking for a code?

It may help if we knew what make and model of stereo you were referring to?

 ???

OP mentioned 4-disc cassette so assumed it was the CCR2006 :-\

CDC as in ccr2006 can be fixed by Dave DND.

CD Changer as fitted to CCR600/800 needs its own code, and follow the code entry procedure. Though the 4 disk changer was never a factory fit to Omega ccr600/800, only Vectras/Astras etc

I wasn`t sure as the external 4 disc changer (CDC3) can give similar fault

Not sure if they were fitted to Omega`s though

Might be worth checking that error message again for CD or CDC

The CDC3 fitted to CCR600 etc in Vectra-Bs and Astra-Gs has its own unique code, similar to the CDC2 setup with CCR600. Never seen one of those suffer any other problems other than the usual lasers and jammed mechs, but I don't see that many, as they were never Omega factory fit.
