I'm in love :D After getting some required maintainance done i'm plannin a few mods. Nothing drastic just a wee 30mm drop n nice wheels! I keep going back and thinking WOW, with the r888 they come in at the 1500 mark and i think they would make the car stand right out :D tho id likely just go for nankangs or somthin, but the semi slicks would be cool as, anyone agree??

the thing that puts me off with type of design is that they should be handed to each side of the car so as vanes are pointing in the same direction,just my opinion tho,look nice otherwise

:-\ dunno mate but then I'm a hit of a weirdo when it comes to modifying. For example I have a Y plate Elite with the early style wheels and I love the later style wheels but won't fit them on my car because my car, can't explain it - just doesn't feel right.
If you like them go for it :y

Think they are a bit too in your face for the omega? Personally think multi spokes isnt for the omega, something similar to the older style elite alloys would look good! :y

Bit different, some like some dont which imo makes em spot on :y cheers lads! And ye semi slicks are totally not suitable for everyday use, i just have an image in my head of them giving the car a real sleeper look 8) but theyd have to be a show/summer alternative and its a lot of pennies for nothing really

888s stick like the proverbial to a blanket in the dry when warm. They are probably one of the best road legal tyres for dry grip but are very poor in the wet. I'd be surprised if they lasted more than about 2-3K on an omega too.
Even if it's going to be a track car only, I reckon an Omega might well be heavy enough to overheat those tyres after a few laps, meaning they won't be much use there either.
The above depends a little on compound, of which there are several. It might be that once you get to that size they make them harder and design for a heavier car? Not sure, but worth finding out.
They are fine on a light track day car, even for road use, when you can drive around the problems in the wet and can gather it up before hitting scenery when (not if) you find the limits in the wet. I wouldn't fancy them on an Omega with winter looming, though, especially if doing my 18k a year of daily driving regardless of weather. It would be very expensive and very frightening some days. ;)
A good chunk of that money will be going on the tyres. I'd make sure you get something more suited to the Omega.

If you get chance then get hold of an American car parts catalogue, last one I saw was about 2000 pages but the wheel section was smart, They offered N/S and O/S wheels with loads of different offsets and PCD's. My thinking here is that what was offered for the Catera would (I thought ) have been suitable for the Omega.

Nice looking wheel - reminds me of the propeller style on the Cavalier.
