Some say 5w40 ie millers, comma say 10w40 my omega mv6 2.6 seems to be drinking a litre every 800 miles since I put 10w40 in

Any blue smoke on startup or on the overrun ?

I use Vauxhall's own oil (10w40) When you ask for it ask if there is anything they can do about the price (about £37 for 5 litres) at my local dealer they knock the price down to £18 for 5 litres !
But really you need to find where the oil is going ! Rocker cover gaskets are the favourites, check for oil in plug wells if no out side oil leaks found  :y

Some 2.6's had valve stem seal problems



Or you can send 25 quid to autobahnstormers and get a VX Trade card.
Buy a box of 4 x 5ltr cans and only pay for 3  :y
Works out about 15 quid a can  ;)

No smoke and plug wells are clean I only gave the engine a good clean a few weeks back.when I serviced it. No drips in the road I did notice some oil where the gearbox joins the engine tho
