ELM327 based devices are notoriously difficult to set up, some work easily, some don't.. they all need setting to a certain port on your laptop, which may already be in use by another device.

The software that comes with these can also be very painful to use .. most is written overseas and has not translated well.

Your car MUST be new enough to accept an ELM327 based enquiry .. AFAIK only the 2.6/3.2 will do this .. but I could be wrong.

The device will, in all probability, only do engine codes and little else.

IMHO a "proper" obdII reader, if your car is capable, is a far better investment.

Entwood has it right on the nail. You only get what you pay for, may of the cheapies have software written in the baltic languages and the instructions are really funny to read.
Tried afew and binned them. The one I have now is far better and got me out of the few problems I have had, better still its manual is well written and in English.

There is a description of readers in FAQ.

Needless to say, the one in your link won't work ;)

Remapping and chip tuning, eh? ???

Oh.. What's that smell? :D

At best that will read engine codes and some live data from a 2.2/2.6/3.2

Useless on any other Omega or any other systems in the car.
