Yup, met Dave again on my way back from Nuneaton on Friday Night :)
Got a drive of his Carlsson... what can i say? makes my 620Ti feel even slower :(
Very nice car, feels big and safe and comfy, which is more than can be said for other cars.
And then to top it all off, he kicked my ass in a little dabble on his private runway! not that it wasnt expected LOL.
Was nice to meet you again though mate, and if you ever feel like a trip up North, you know you're always welcome :D
-
Good to catch up again mate. :)
Glad you like the car (you may even get to like the dash one day!) ;)
Now get rid of that Rover thing and get something interesting! ::)
-
If it makes a 620ti seem slow it must be some motor. I'm afraid that, even at my age, it wouldn't take me long to lose my license in something like that ;)

It is really quite relaxed and sedate (and suprisingly economical)... if you drive off boost. :)
However, if you plant your foot.... :o
Now I need to change the shocks/springs!
Suddenly Omega suspension seems cheap! :(

How can you possibly drive off boost? I've got a 16 year old child inside my head that just wouldn't let me.... :-[

Believe me, it is not easy to drive off boost! ;) but I need to keep my licence!
Also I don't plan on testing exactly what this is capable of until I am happy with a new set of shcks and springs (and I have changed the brake fluid and checked the pads!)
It still awaits the ultimate test though....
A test drive by Marks DTM! :o
I will NOT be a passenger for that journey!
-
You are a very brave man, Dave. Just make sure he's got plenty of room all round and there's no other cars within a mile......or two.
-
Chicken...... ;D
-
Chicken??
I have visions of you taking it for a "quick run" down along that strech of road where you demonstrated how quick the 24v Senator could be! :o
I'll stay and look at the baby! ;)
-
Any piccies of this mean machine yet Dave?
-
I'll give it a wash and a hoover and post some up at the weekend (before Mark gets it!). :)

What IS this reputation Mark has with cars then? ::)
-
Mark is a very good driver, very safe, but also one who, shall we say, likes to explore the limitations of chasis and suspension design and action! ;)
Being a passenger at these times is not for the faint of heart (I never used to be....)

Maybe that's why he didn't do the 1/4 at Santa Pod, no bends ;)

He'd be very safe trying my 2.2 lpg out then.....you can almost pop out and go and make a coffee while its deciding to accelerate ;D
Altho i did make make the back end do a little wiggle the other day.....i floored it pulling out of a petrol station.....but it was tipping down with rain at the time.....so oil/grease/well wet road might have had summat do do with it ;D .....it quickly recovered tho.....and without TC.....as Jaime pointed out yesterday...2.2's...TC....doesnt need it ;D
