Title: German Efficiency
Post by: Rods2 on 29 September 2012, 21:26:19
The Germans are several years ahead of us, but our UK politicians are determined to match them. Ed Davey being at the forefront of this.

We are also from next April going to be paying a high price for CO2 Climate change fantasy.

From March next year A new £16 per ton CO2 tax is being introduced by George Osbourne, the aim is that by 2030 when it has increased to £70 a tonne, Gas and Coal power stations have become so noncompetitive to run, all power will come from renewables.

So start stocking up on candles and fire wood.

Most depressing, Rods. :(

I've been banging out about this for what seems like years, but no-one seems to care. >:(

They will when the lights go out, though. ::) ::)

I've got a generator in the shed, and I've just proven that you can cook the best beef brisket ever using just a bag of charcoal (and nine hours), so let the lights go out.. ;)

.. mind you, they'll be round to stick a probe in my barbecue soon, no doubt. ;D

This is the problem you have when decisions of great importance are taken by some career politician who has no practical experience with anything and clearly doesn't listen to his advisors. :(

There is a fairly large forest of 'windmills' being planted offshore at the mouth of the River Tees at present, dangerously close to the shipping lane imo. Yet another Folly we will all have to pick up the bill for in the not too distant future! >:(

And anyway, there is no such thing as German efficiency, IMHO. It's a myth. ;)
