Title: engine swap
Post by: grannon_mv6 on 30 September 2012, 00:46:59
If my engine died and the wife didnt need to know how much a new one would cost, would a insignia vxr lump and box fit?

Not sure about the engine, but anything will fit if made to. The gearbox wouldn't, the Insignia's front wheel drive.

VXR Insignia is 4x4 i think?

Would imagine a lump like that would be quite expensive, think a LS1 or similar V8 would be cheaper

Or a 2ltr let.

A lot more of them about and cheeper that a v8  ;)

Or if you are feeling adventureous, a 2.3 turbo out of a saab 9000 / 95.
A easy 300bhp with a little fettleing
