Hi all, ive recently bought a 2.2 dti omega on a 52 plate.
My name is Jason and i live in Eckington, Sheffield
Ive joined the forum to havea look around and possibly get a bit of help with sorting a few small issues with my omega.
Its been a taxi and has 267k on the clock, so with that a few small issues.
Ive got a vibration coming from under the centre console when accelerating, sounds like a bearing. are there any common faults under there?

Hi and welcome to oof , impressive mileage :)
-
Thanks guys, yeah I'm just off jct 30 M1.
Yeah the miles are high but seemsn to run fine, getting ready for glow plugs so I'm going to change them soon. And the fuel filter and air filter, it seems a little sluggish. If they don't solve it, I'm getting it remapped!
I've got a feeling that the noise could be a bearing either in the back of gearbox... to prop or diff bearing, I'm yet to jack the back up. I've just had the front tracked up and pair of tyres as it was all over. The car has recently had new tie bars, bottom arms etc and tracking was miles out. I've still got a slight vibration but believe it is the centre tie rod.

Welcome to OOF mate :y

Hello Jason!
Woah - with that mileage, mine at 145K is starting to look young ;-)
Careful with the glowplugs - mine came out fine but some have had problems with them snapping, there is a howto here (careful with the hot turbo, the hairs on the back of my fingers are just now growing back)

Haha, I do need a few parts but I'm doing one bit at a time to keep cost down!
I'm checking all parts first before buying...
Lhr elec win mechanism not working
Rhr central locking mechanism not working
Front ash tray and 12v socket missing
Vibration possibly coming from prop maybe
Need a back box as some idiot put a 5" exit pipe on!
Centre tie rod has slight play.
Need an aerial for my roof
Steering wheel leather has come off
Drivers airbag as it has hole in it
Possibly outside temp sensor as that doesn't work
Clock display has missing digits in date and time
Then I'm looking at painting or replacing the wood look trim
Maybe putting leather in
Front bumper with fogs
Lots of little bits!
-
Oh, and a centre arm rest with working catch and rear air vents!
