hi, everyone who likes this topic! our solicitor has had contact from our lovely neighbour, who got notice to remove it by 5th, yes an extra day! stating she cant get appointment until 11th oct with a solicitor, i told him it another hold up, and that not to give her any more time, she had 9months, we are now built right up to the witches gutter box, and cant go any furher, we had a roofer on standby to remove it after the 5th as agreed, now solicitor saying he will get the court proceedings into action, but how long this going to take?he said they have it down as urgent, we cant figure out why she just wont admit she in the wrong! >:(
-
Some people just can't/won't admit to being wrong[my ex wife for one!]Why she just can't give in with good grace is beyond me.We've all got to live in this world of ours,so why not try to get on.It's a lot more pleasant that way!
-
its just yhe type of person she is, she could be related to your ex wife! well we have tried, we were to soft with her by letting her put her scaffolding in our drive, but if we had known what her intensions were we wouldnt have allowed that, we took our eyes off the ball, so to speak, when we had lot problems, and she took advantage of our kindness, well ok bring it on bitch!
-
Stick with it old son & try not to let it wind you up too much, you'll get there in the end :y
-
Thanks, it turns our stomachs to think she is such an evil human being, well i think shes human! halloween just round the corner! wonder if her broomstick has extension on! ;D
-
It's going in the right direction, she has responded to your solicitor.... Result :y
After nine months another week or so shouldn't make that much difference. ;)
The cheapest thing all round now would be for common sense to be prevailed upon her by her solictor, and simply remove the box with an apology. :y You could always persue the council at a latter date for total incompetence via your MP to " Stop it happening to someone else" ;D ;D ;D
KEEP CALM and take your good lady out for a drink :y ;) ;)
-
trouble is she already had free consultation with another solicitor back in april, who told her she was in the wrong! then she made excuses and lead me to believe she would remove it and admitted she had tresspassed, this is just a game to her and she thinks we will back away again, but sorry to say we wont this time, how many free 30mins with solicitors will she try, she maybe thinks one of them is going to say, hay you have done nout wrong! but the way we feel thats what will probably happen, we just had no luck, the council are a waste of time and that MP of ours didnt get back to me, after apparently being deeply concerned about our situation! she wont be getting our vote ever! :-\
-
But, its moving in the right direction at last just try and hold out a little longer, easy to say when your not living with it but she is running out of excuses and games to play.
just remember he or she ;) who laughs last laughs the loudest
well done the pair of you for sticking to your guns and seeing it through
but you must post some completion pics up :y :y
best wishes the Lovejoys
-
Keep calm and carry on!!! :)
-
Paul.lovejoy, just hope it gets completed to post some pictures! at the minute it just looks like a hen hut compared to her dallas palace, but thats just threw greed and nastiness. surely justice will be done. we will keep going!
mr and mrs michael :y
-
it will and you will. you have both come this far take my hat of to you ( sorry dont actually wear a hat)
but sure you get the jist
-
Why don't you just beat the crap out of it then throw it in her back garden?
-
we have been told to wait till the cow sees her solicitor, got draft letter threw today from barrister telling us that we could end up paying her damages and to pay for the removal of guttering! just gets better, we are sick to the stomach with it all. dont know what to do, their all these different injunctions to put on her, she certainly done a good job on us, we will never trust anyone ever again. might not get extension finished now. lost all interest and confidence in the legal system. >:(
-
Please try to stop being so negative, you have had the good news from your solicitor let's just concentrate on that. So what if you have to pay for the removal your builder is going to do it anyway. Deep breath KEEP CALM and be POSITIVE :y
-
Get the local press involved. ;)
-
just push ahead with court proceedings as planned. If she cannot arrange and organise herself tough. After all she could manage to get the builders in
-
Question, what are your neighbours saying about all this ?
-
do you mean people in our street?we tend to keep out the way, and say nothing, our other neighbour enquired what was happening, we just said its getting sorted. the bitches partner has a lot of family who come from where we live, and live just down the road, his friend pulled up yesterday, never seen me at the window, looked up at it and started laughing, my blood boils. got to get her legally
-
I'm sure you'll win in the end, then not only will you have taught her a lesson on the legalities of her previous actions but also how to behave properly and with dignity. You and your good lady can hold your heads high that however tempting it may have been to do otherwise you have stayed on the right side of law and order despite all her provocations to do otherwise. The very best of luck to you.
-
I hope you are right, that we win, if not we will look a pair of pillocks! and then our build stops altogether. If this other solicitor she is supposed to be seeing, at what we think another free consultation, our solicitor has told me, is she expecting to hear a different answer from the other one she seen back in april, that she has tresspassed and will lose?and he has told me that she is running out of places to hide, and wont, and cant wriggle out of it for much longer, the top and bottom of it all is that they now realise that it is a complicated job to remove it without taking half the roof off! moral of it all is she never thought it threw, and didnt think we would kick off when we spotted it, and hoped we were moving, but the problem would have still been their if the new people wanted to extend, thats why we couldnt sell our house, they could see the problem, it like a canopy, big like her head! >:(
-
5th was her deadline, friday, heard someone on our scaffolding, and bit of noise, me and the wife kept out the way, as we said they could use it to help remove all tresspass. coast clear had to have a look, went up ladders to investigate, as you know we cant see as we have it closed in now and its right up to the witches gutter box. well they have removed some roof tiles next to the nasty guttering but thats it! she is going to take her bloody time with this, as she now knows its not a simple job. wish she just get proper outfit in to do it, she has her partners family mucking around with it, best of it is he put the shit on with his workmate, who may i add work for a well known plastics and roofing outfit round here! >:(
-
A step in the right direction :y
-
we hope so, it be a relief, money wise and stress wise, dont fancy going to court, but, will have to wait and see. :y
-
Thats pretty much an admission of guilt......good result.
Now, was the solicitor who issued the letter sensible enough to state when work must be completed by?
-
Michaels wifey here, good news, she has just caught him, and apologised! the work will be done this week, my god what a relief,
the solicitor she seen must have told her she has done wrong and couldnt win, she also said, this has got out of hand! thats an understatement! if it had carried on we all would have been on jeremy kyle! i can feel a holiday coming on! thanks everyone for listening to us moaning on, but it was a tricky situation, and now we can get on with our extension, and lives,
when it finished will post some photos. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
-
Fantastic news
I'm so pleased for you both :) :) :) :)
Holiday would be a great idea for you both.
Just get away, relax, enjoy life and leave it all to the builders ;)
When its finished, do we all get invited to the house warming party :D :D :D :D
-
What fantastic news! :y :y :y :D
-
By way of apology your neighbour should pay for the holiday :D ;D ;D :y
You can laugh about it when it's all over, pleased for you :y :y
-
we laughing now! we going for a meal tonight and a couple of drinks, it will take alot for me to forgive her, wont be going round for a cup of tea, pity it took her this long to realise we wont give up, she also wont be well liked, as everyone does know what situation we were in when she plotted it. never mind worse things happen, makes our situation not that important when you think about that poor little girl, april, and what her parents must be going threw. :'(
-
certainley glad thats all sorted lets just hope she keeps to her word, well done you got there in the end :y :y
-
Thats great news, pleased for you both. :y

-

-
thanks, wont settle till see it being sorted, then we will relax, i have been calm, its the wife who really wanted to punch her head in, and she not normally like that! its called, standing your ground, and fighting your corner when someone takes advantage , and my god she certainly did that! :y
-
Glad that seems to be sorted...... :y :y
-
hi, just to tell you all, they are doing the work tomorrow, saturday. they have had a special metal gutter made up, so when they remove that bloody white massive boxing it will be hidden and we can carry on with our build staight past it as we had to keep our build 85mils away from hers, hideous really as her build shouldnt be their! never mind. we going out tomorrow, they will be working on our scaffold, but that the deal. chance to come back and they will have built a garage on our drive! shouldnt joke, she might! ;D
-
Good news that :y
Any chance of some before and after photo's so we can all see whats been going on ?
-
I took photos at every stage at the start, but lost interest. but i will try and take some the way it stands now and get the daughter to put them on, you will see how it looks squoshed up,her house looks like it eating ours! but just wait till our done it stands much higher than hers and will tower above hers. will also put photo on when it totally done. will get pics on at weekend daughter off work tomorrow, and you know what they are like, have to beg them to do out for you, but when they want anything!!!! :y

G, DAY not .D, DAY, gutter day! She will be Gutted she has to take it down ha ha ;D
-
Mrs Michael here, promise will get photos on sometime, they got it took down, put a metal gutter in and now that allows our build to go staight past without any obsticals in the way, she been nicey nicey to Michael asking if it ok the work they did, he just replied yea. I cant forgive her. we had to take his mam to hospital today they think she had a mini stroke, so we running around like two blue arsed flies, everything happens at the same time, ironic as the purpose of extension was to move his mam in.
-
Sorry to hear about the mother in law.
Great news on the progress, it wont be long before its up and finished :y
-

Which is the guttering she had to remove?
-
If you expand the picture, you can see where the guttering and soffit only go in a short way now :y At least thats how I see it
Click on pic, then click again...comes up massive for me.
-
picture no 1, she removed the white guutter box that is hanging over our drive, but she asked michael if she could leave the bit on the drivethrough porch bit and a bit at the top, as her house is furher forward than ours, if that makes any sense!
me, mrs Michael is not happy about it, i wanted the whole lot taken down as she never give a thought to us when she added that on, and wasnt on the first plans. we have had the building control man down today and he told michael he has not yet signed her build off, and i dont ever want them to because then she cant ever sell it, and that will make me happy! i wont talk to any council people again, as they never helped us in any way. So what do you think of it?yes it will be nearly joined up to that witches build, but as i have said, she was supposed to build her pillers in her drive, NOT ON THE WALL! then their would have been a reasonable gap. she makes my blood boil! >:(

Clever Sod :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Thank you :y
-
I can see it now thank you and Mrs Michael..... calm down dear, it's only guttering. ::) ;D ;D
At least your extension is going up now and you've had the last laugh, I bet she's pooing herself about getting it signed off :y ;D ;D
It looks nice how, long before you get to welcome mum into the finished extension?
-
Thanks i am new to all this enlarging pictures on here! i didnt even put them on, the daughter had to, i have enlarged the before pic and god we have all her crap on our side! can you see the steel gurder, it still can be seen on our side, and her pipes, that she said she didnt know about! panocio, what a liar! she thinks she lives in Dallas not Bishop Auckland, what do you lot think of her cottage type windows? Michael just says, i dont know how the bloody hell they see out of them. everyone to their own i suppose. ;D
-
Oh i am calm now, we passed eachother down the street yesterday and just stared at eachother, she caused the problems, but acting like she the victim, poor thing!I keep out the way, we have nothing to say to her now, well i could, but dont want to lower myself to her level, which is jeremy kyle material! Hopefully it be finished just before xmas, his mam keeps asking when will it be done, she thought she would be moved in next month! we were at a stand still for two weeks till we got her next door pushed to remove the crap. and as you know two weeks could have cracked it on alot further than we are now. Think his mam thinks it just like a leggo set that you clip together, never mind when she moved in she should have nothing to moan about................but i know she will!earplugs at the ready! ;D
-
Dead chuffed for the both of you, and well done Mrs for keeping your cool throughout what will have been a seriously tense & frustrating time! :y :y :y
-
I am probably wrong, but I always thought that there was a set down distance that you had to be apart from another dwelling ???
I keep thinking a metre ???? Probably way off the mark :)

Don't think there is, judging by the new builds round here. If the developer can build it so you can get a Rizla paper between the houses, they get called detached, and sell for 50% more. ;D

Your Omega isn't going anywhere soon is it! ::) ::)
-
no Andy B my 3 omegas are going nowhere just yet! cant wait to get one back on the road again, and the whole street has similar extensions so we all nearly joined up! if you look at our other neighbours roof, on other side of us do you notice the step in it?the council made them do it that way, the small window is to far down and dont look right,Mrs Michael just noticed it by looking at the picture, and wondered what i meant when i used to say its got a step in it. :o
-
You're right, looks daft with a couple of row of bricks missing ;D ;D
