Title: confused crank?
Post by: sw3en3y on 02 October 2012, 20:08:04
have had a fault where car runs fine then feels as if its missing and emission light starts to flash (pedel test 0560 voltage error) tonight driving home emission light starts flashing and car runs rough then light stays lit. normally turn off and on again and its fine not now now getting crank sensor and misfire cylinder 2 fault codes, can a faulty crank sensor cause the above errors?

no was waiting for a mobile mechanic to come out as i don't have a volt meter, he is now coming out tomorrow. I was just hoping to understand if a faulty crank sensor would cause these symptoms so when mechanic turns up i know if he's trying to get me to part with unnecessary money for jobs that don't need doing.

Car was fixed today, coil pack was oozing a gel/oil substance causing it to overheat and stop working on cylinder 3 and throw up all the fault codes. So am a very happy person this evening

Thanks again for all the advice.
