Title: ALARM SOUNDS FOR NO REASON

HI ALL... PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG PLACE BUT IM NEW HERE............. I WONDERING IF ANY ONE CAN OFFER ANY ADVICE OR SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM. EVERY NOW AND AGAIN MY ALARM SOUND FOR NO REASON (IF ITS LOCK OR UNLOCKED) NO HAZARDS OR HORN JUST THE ALARM. THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING ALONG THEN THE ALARM STARTED TO SOUND WHILE I WAS DRIVING????? ALSO WHEN IT SOUNDS I CAN NOT TURN IT OFF(OPEN DOORS, LOCK/UNLOCK WITH THE FOB/KEY) JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT RESETS ITSELF.

Thats your powersounder misbehaving.

Remove it

It lives under the driver side windscreen scuttle.

Ignore it, and you may find your car reduced to ash, the batterys leak, and catch fire!

I disconnected the battery today on alphaomegakappa's car and it went chirp!! power sounder swiftly removed!!!  :y :y

More likely to be the rechargable batteries have failed, and spewed their guts all over the PCB...

thanks all for the advice :y. is it a simple job to remove it or would it be best to let the mechanic do it. if i did it, it would'nt kick the immobliser in would it???

bit tight to get in mate but dead easy n/s wiper arm off small torx bolt holding scuttle panel down on n/s then lift scuttle up as far as you can slacken 10mm nut and unplug the unit then chuck it in someone you don't like weelie bin  ;D  :y

Get in touch with Darth Loo Knee here on the forum. He is very local to you and knows his stuff.
You won't regret it. Apart from getting your alarm issue sorted, you will learn lots about the Omega.

Simple job ..... just unplug it & remove from the car.
The immobiliser works by talking to the chip inside your key.  :y :y :y
