Title: omega facelift v6 steering issue

need a bit of help here, steering on my migv6 isnt right, going to look it over at the weekend , but had a quick look tonight , it feels very notchy , think thats spelt wrong , but rocking the steering wheel from side to side  holding the road wheel u can feel its not smooth , feels very lose on steering wheel, a lot of play from left to right , too much play over 3 inches before the wheel starts to turn ....... steering box? adustment ? any help please , john .

Start by trying to find obvious play in all the linkages, and idler

done a new idler this year and new track rods and link bars back in may for the MOT , but gonna recheck at the weekend , got a feeling its steering box ???

Depends where yoy got your new idler from.I put a new ebay one on my car and it failed the AMOT the next day for excessive play.
Genuine VX or Lemforder are the only ones worth bothering with imo. :y

It didnt fail AMOT,it failed MOT. :-[ ::) ;D
