Hello peeps, will 225/45/17 tyres fit on my elite rims designed for 235/45/17 tyres and still be ok? How much will the speedo be out if at all? Thanks peeps

They will fit, but are 10mm narrower, so not ideal, prang it and see what the insurers say :-\
Also less grip by virtue of being narrower. Lower profile, so ride will suffer, and smaller rolling radius so speedo will over read noticably.
Are they cheaper or summat :-\

Yes hahaha! I have Federal ss 595 on the rear, I'm getting full geo shortly and want them on the front after this but can't seem to find any!
Thanks Al

Shop around :y different tyre firms use different suppliers and often buy what they're told to, so you may find that another company will be able to source them in the right size :y

Yeah I got some from mytyres.co.uk before, quite pleased with them and the tyres, but they don't seem to have anyway now. I'll just have to play the waiting game!
They're quite a good budget tyre I think, especially for sedate cruising like moi

It could be that tyre has stopped being made, and only older stock in less common sizes is available.
If that is the case, I'd consider finding an alternative in the correct size.

they are lighter, car acceleration is slightly better, although fuel consumption difference will be negligible but still less..
besides if you use eagle f1's , you wont have any grip issues.. 225's stick like a glue.. :y
and yes they will fit..
