Title: Traffic Master
Post by: pscocoa on 08 October 2012, 21:07:02
I let my TM licence expire a couple of years ago and was just thinking of renewing it as Omega is doing a bit more motorway these days.

Is the system still live and is it working as it used to I.e. is it still supported.

Trafficmaster no longer allow you to purchase the licence.

They are in the process of turning it off (as from June), but large amounts of the network are currently still live.

Shame really - if I hear the 'licence expired' speech from my car one more time I may go loopy!   ;D

Thanks all. I agree a shame - it did a fair job in the past.

It's almost completely useless on my stretch of the m4.

Google traffic is reasonable ;) I use TomTom HD Traffic (fully live and updated automatically by users as well) and it's pretty good :y Not cheap though ::)

Mmm. I guess the Google traffic is a good option.

I don't do a lot of miles where the traffic matters too much, so probably wouldn't want to spend a lot of money.

My sat nav's like 7 years old now and about time I updated it. Would be nice to get traffic too, but don't want to pay the earth for it.

Although the Trafficmaster wasn't brilliant, it was helpful at times and for 30 quid a year wasn't too expensive. I used to top it up if we were going on a long journey with lots of driving and then have it for a year after.
