Title: Throw Away Society
Post by: pscocoa on 08 October 2012, 21:48:06
My in laws died recently and we have 2 almost unused mobility scooters and 2 little used Tempur adjustable beds.

There is little interest from free ads sites locally in Cornwall so rang social services to see if they had people with needs that could make use of it. Got a real jobs worth saying there might be liability issues if they matched the stuff.

What is wrong with this country. Stuff will end up with house clearance outfit at this rate.

hmmmm ! My wife has a stairlift fitted, as we are moving to a bungalow soon I phoned her social worker and asked if they would like it back ? He phoned me back quickly and said, ' we don't take them but, if you phone this number a bloke will pop out and remove it for free, he then cleans them up and sells them'... I asked about the other equipment we have, supplied by the council. 'Well, if I don't know where you have moved to' ???? And I thought Councils were looking to save money ???   :-\

Why should they care as it is council tax and tax payers money, and there is plenty more on its way from where that came from, where they have a captive audience supplying as much money as they can pour down the drain wisely spend.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

A friend of mine daughter worked for thr local council for a bit and always said, if you want to make councils more effeciant and productive, just supply bigger drains, so we can pour the money away faster.  :o :o :o :o
