Title: Front Bumper Repair...
Post by: jordan681 on 11 October 2012, 19:58:42

I there..  Can anyone give me some advise about repairing my Beloved Irmscher front bumper...  some little T**T reversed inti the front of my omega at tesco and did a runner...  leaving me with a X shape split in the top of my bumper..  a split washer bottle, a bent Bumper support and a damaged bonnet..

Alas I have managed to sort a bumper, bottle and a bumper support bar from here...  but need help with the Bumper repair itself...

Fibreglass, resin and body filler mate - dependant on the extent of the damage.

A pic might help  ;)

for an advice a piccy would be useful.. however, if you are going to use a filler buy good quality , mix at correct ratios and after application wait as recommended.. or it will suck paint and you will have to redo the job.. if possible avoid fillers..

instead I recommend good quality plastic primers+ primers , proper sanding and again applying primer.. so in case there is a fracture it will cover the surface strongly.. best is epoxy..

An old soldering iron to weld the split, then reinforce from behind with fibreglass/reinforced expoxy, fill and paint the front as required. :y

Used this to good effect on a couple of cars :y
