Title: Rear wheel arches

Hi folks im new to this so not sure what im doing and if im doing it wrong so any advice is welcome.

I have a 98 Omega 3.0V6 and the last owner had a go at trying to fix the rust on the rear arches. however its not gone well at all! the look bad and im looking for a cheap fix...

My plan is to try and find plastic arch covers

Any1 know where i could get them???

 ;) Plastic will never replace steel and even if they do look good you still have to get rid of the rot and make sure that it will not return or spread. Otherwise its just money wasted because the rust under them will simply push them up or appear round them.
Grind/cut out the rot. Weld in new metal if needs be and then do the filling and finishing.....Its the only was as I know at my own cost with my previous 98 2.5 Elite. Took me ages but eventually got it right and the rot did not return.
Sorry the news was not what you wanted but its for the best....... ::)

I think they look bloody awful,its just telling anyone who's looking that your arches are rusty ::)

yep.. besides muddy water will enter the tight area between .. and you cant get rid of it or even be able to dry.. :-\

Mmmmmmmm i'm thinking that these (painted) could be a handy if your shed  car just needs tarting up in its last couple of years of life  :-\

Wonder if they do a complete body shell in plastic  ::)  By the time ive cut the rust out there wont be anything left  :-\ ;D

 ::)  no need for plastic just paint it with epoxy ;D :y

Thanks for the advice folks but i dout i will have the car for years. bit of a wheeler dealer. tho i do like my omega with the carbo dash and leather seats im a V8 and Turbo guy altho the omega shifts for a big car!

As for painting it im a bit handy but not expert by far so thats out of my safe ground.
