Hello,
Not posted for a while but really could do with some help and advise. I will say where I have got to and hopefully someone can pass on some help and experience.thanks.
The car , a 1997 76k 2.5 24v manual omega , with prinz LPG, new coil pack , leads , plugs.
The car has previously run well without fault . The car stalls and the revs fluctuate at idle when hot prior to stalling. When cold it seems good , but when its hot the stalling is very regular the fuel choice of petrol or LPG makes no difference what so ever , so not fuel related. Scanning the car brings up fault code 19, crank position sensor.
Have replaced it , then again , twice in one week , the sensor fitted is genuine and is also marked Siemens. The fault remains. Checking the car car on live data the scanner receives a rpm signal from the sensor. Live data also shows the maf , air temp , coolant temp , cam ,maf, o2's and iacv all showing sensible readings. Really at a loss as what to do next , guessing it could be crank sensor wiring , is there another connection I can check , anyone had the same issue?.

Sure its genuine? I thought the V6 crank sensor was Bosch?

Purchased from main dealer then?

Can't see the part number now as its fitted , but they were both new. Genuine from the main dealer yet marked Siemens.?..

Thanks for the link rob , sounds like I need to try a Bosch sensor tommorrow. The text seems to indicate though , bieng an early car it's likely to be Siemens from new anyhow?
Got to be worth a try , nothing to loose. :y

I know what the link says but reading elsewhere on the forum recently:
- I thought early 2.5s had part number 90492006 (don't know if it is bosch or siemens)
- Later 2.5s had 90492061 which i just bought from stealers (siemens)
- The 90540743 was for 2.6/3.0/3.2 (bosch)

So do I try the Bosch sensor in a 1997 car , cause the siemens sensor is not good , changed twice , no improvement and only fault code 19.

I would suggest looking at the part number you fitted - check near the oil filter housing and report back before buying anthing else?

If the plug was the right type, then it was the right sensor.
All my Omegas have been 1998 or later, and have had Bosch sensors, hence I thought they were Bosch.

Looks like the the crank sensor is not the problem :-\ esp. if you've replaced it twice. Don't know what to do next

Two sensors , different Bosch/Siemens , same mounting same multiplug , ?? Why do they do that , checked again with vauxhall today and the epc states the car needs the supplied siemens sensor.
Glad of all the help. Ignored the parts guy and brought the Bosch sensor that I was told would not work on my car, well how wrong was he. And it was nearly half the price.
110 miles this evening and fingers crossed the problem is behind me. 8)

90540743 Bosch sensor was what was used.
Think I have spoken too soon , stalled a few times at tick over today :-\

EPC is frequently wrong for V6 crank sensors.
