Title: Headunit, Lights and Driver Seat
Post by: Ninda on 22 October 2012, 13:29:26
Hi guys got a few questions :D

This may sound silly but how far forward does the Driver Seat go on the 3.2 Elite 03, because the driver seat doesn't go as far as the Passenger seat and im thinking it may be getting stuck.

next question is i turned on the headlights onto normal beam and the switch started making fizzing noises and smoke came out of it, what could of caused that to happen. (Fuse gone maybe)

and lastly i brought my dad a Headunit to install in the car but when i installed it there is no sound at all, I mean the Headunit turns on and everything but theres no sound, im thinking its because the cars amp is not turning on or no signal is being sent to them therefore no sound, can anyone help me with this issue? The original headunit was a Siemens NCDC 2013 with a Bose amp

All These questions are in relation to the 3.2 Elite 03

Thanks

check the runners by looking down by the seatbelt stalk, and through from the rear looking under the seat ... mirror on a stick helps ...  betting is you have a coin or similar stuck in the runners ...

EDIT .. must type faster :)

Thanks guys, i will have look at the runners for seats. As for the switch i guess that too, but it worked perfectly fine the night before?  And lastly the headunit i brought some adapter things to make the buttons on the steering wheel work, and that works fine. What do i need to inorder to make it work ?

@ Albitz, even if i remove the Amp and its speakers i wont get sound from the other speakers would i ?  Or do you mean removing all the speakers and getting aftermarket ones ? Bcoz if thats the case then i might iswell take the car apart again and take everything i had put in off :(....

Also i noticed today that when i put the car in Reverse, with the lights on the rear fog light turns on, in the dash, and burning smell coming from the Switch, so im going with the reverse Light is causing it to short out ?

As for the seat havnt had time to look at that, but i will in the near future :D

Lighting issue;  Has the car had a towbar fitted in the past?  Any aftermarket lighting?

Remove the rear light clusters and have a decent root around to find anything 'not normal'.  Any towbar electrics, look at them, look at them again and then have another look!
