Have just picked up my new wheels, a 2003 Omega CDX 2.2i Estate, 147k and looking pretty tidy. Black with dark privacy glass (one undertaker owner).
Replaces a long serving 95 Merc E200 Estate (last of the W124's) that was getting to the point of needing to much work to keep it presentable.
Think I got a reasonable deal at £900 with 12 test and six month tax.
Couple of minor issues that hopefully I can be pointed to the right threads in the forum.
Firstly, it had not been used for a bit so they put fresh battery on to sell it, however radio is now showing SAFE, have no code for it, is it cheaper /easier to get it decoded or get the code from vauxhall?
Secondly elec drivers seat hight adjustment doesn't seem to be working, press the button and it feels like its trying to do something but doesn't move, am I right in assuming its likely to be the motor and how easy/cheap is it to fix? if it neither cheap or easy will leave as is!
All help appreciated and thanks for what looks like a darn comprehensive forum!
Cheers
Pete

Welcome to the forum.
Before you start worrying about the seat motors have a good nose around to check there is nothing jamming the mechanism, I've seen a couple with coins stuck in them. Bit of a bonus if that's all it is, especially as in my experience small coins just get eaten, so it's usually a quid coin you get out of it!

Hi welcome to OOF
Dude if your replacing the radio anyway, it might be worth pulling it first & looking just to see if someone has scribbled the 4 digit code on the radio chassis somewhere.
I got lucky with one of my Astra`s doing this in the past.
Try lifting upward on the seat as you select up on the switch & check the mech is free from debris. The 2.2 Ecotec is easy to service & the advice I`ve followed on here is to try and use genuine GM/vaux. parts.
