At least they both played with the regulation number of players (or 10 in Villa's case ;D)...

Torres went against the precedence in such situations, but the precedence is wrong IMO. Maybe now they are dealing with simulation, finally.

There was a point in the game, where United couldn't get a decision either, I guess they are used to that and just got on with it. Where as if Chelsea had spent as much energy in scoring as they did moaning at the ref they would cirtainly have won.

I see they've even accused Clattenburg of abusing one of their players. Sigh...

You were presenting a valid argument until that comment.  It like hearing a Ferrari F1 fan complaining of bad official decisions 6 or 7 years ago ;D

The ref trying to add more humilation onto the 9 man Chelsea, knowing Utd should have slaughtered them.

Hmmm, Utd are getting Lazy IMO. Two early Goals and they took the foot off. Defending a two Goal lead is always dodgy for Utd. Best form of defence ... Etc.

They nearly paid the price. Nearly. ;D

what, the one that played in midfield and instigated the first two goals, and spent more time defending his own box than in their half. No I don't think do. His touch seems to has suffered, but his commitment has never been in doubt.

yep. That's the one. ...although the refereeing has encouraged it IMO. If  a player feels he's been fouled, he can go down to enfercise the point, and the ref will give the foul. IMO its a foul, no matter what. But there we are.

Sadly, I also think they have ruined UK football, due to the money in the top league of football.  TBH, we're seeing it more and more, its about buying success, and very, very few clubs can afford to.

...well you can't accuse united of buying a league.

Anyway, as a Booer, and there for a manic depressive, your out look on football is always going to be glass half empty at the absolute best. Are there step ladders to the roof beams at Villa Park?

Anyway, back on topic... Thinking on from the Man Utd Chelski game.

Am I the only one that sees a pattern with the west London rent boys in blue? That being, oh look we might be loosing, let's blame someone. Anyone else, except themselves. Even if it means accusing the ref of racism, presumably because the nasty man sent off one of our players.

Pikey mentility I call it. You know the rules, you know the score(in any walk of life) but you take a risk and push the boundarys of what's acceptable. Now most people if cought, put their hands up, be honest, and say sorry and move on.
But not if your a Pikey, oh no, you have to stand up and blame everyone else or daring to catch you out. Behave like an arse, then complain your accused of behaving like an Arse (no pun intended)

Pikeys! Ok let's say they're hard done by, a few decissions may not have been correct. Alright, let's say All the decisions where wrong, even. What would they do then? I presume the same thing one of the local pikeys round here did to a motorist who happened to run over a pikeys Dog as it ran out in front of the car.
Burried an axe in his arm. No really.

Needless to say, I don't believe for one second, that Clattenburg uttered one word he's been accused of. We'll see.

As a neutral, as I'm not a Chelsea fan either, my balanced view is Mancs are every bit as bad.

Maybe the entire premiership has become like this. Too much pressures, too much money involved between winning and lossing.  We certainly have this mentality of falling over easily - Torres fell over early (and I believe he could have stayed up, so was right to book for diving), but there was definately contact (and if it was a Mancs player, the decision would have gone the other way).

Football is a contact sport, or at least it was when I was taught the rules. Now I'm not talking about hacking peoples shins out. But this current falling over without contact, and holding shins, is ruining the games. A booking isn't enough, as the potential reward far exceeds the punishment.

it has happened in the past, with players surrounding the ref. etc...not so much recently. Simulation though, it's part of the game, trying to draw a foul etc. that's go to change.

And supporting a different team to the ones playing does not prove impartiality. ;)

True, its not secret that I love to see the red teams lose. Yet, TBH, I'm not that fussed, I don't support either. I don't like either. I get pleasure in seeing them both loosing (hence watching that game, for me, "I" was going to win, as long as it wasn't a draw) ;D

I did think Chelsea we're hard done by, but as I said at the beginning, Mancs is like Ferrari F1 a few years back.

I do agree with your other points :y
See, I don't have you down as a supporter of football, as opposed to a football supporter (of a specific team.)

I don't like The dirty Arse, but some of their play is fff, ffff, fffantas... quite good. ;D

Some times you just have to applaud good football, no matter who's playing. I don't buy this ny team is always best, and more importantly, everyone else's team is always shite.

Although in Villas case.... ;D

Not quite, my team is always shite ;D

I like to see a good game - obviously if my team is playing, I will watch that and support them to the hilt during the game.  I have to agree, begrudgingly, the Arse do (sometimes) play some poetic footie, although with their finances, they are loosing some of their best players. And back in the day, that little poofter, Henri, simply stunning.

But you're right, I don't eat and sleep footie. But I still enjoy it, yet also get frustrated by they way its gone :(

I look at bad ref decisions as annoying at the time, but over a season or two, they do tend to average out, what offside goal for you this week, goes against you next week. I know somebody who is a ref and he says, they don't like bad days at the office, when they get things wrong, but they are human and fallible.

Unfortunately, simulation, seems to a a bad habit that has appeared much more in the premiership along with more Latin players. It is something I hate and when supporting my team, if they win through this it leaves a very bad taste in my month where they have won through cheating.

I'm convinced that the FA, UEFA and FIFA don't want electronic aids for better decisions as they want to keep football controversial and constantly in the news and in pub discussions and hence through this, make it have a higher profile so they make more money.

I enjoy watching a game of football, but I can take it of leave it and would hate to be a fanatic that has to go to every match, where I know several people like this, where their life totally revolves around football and it is hard on the rest of the members of the family, well until they end up divorced it is.

Well I'm clearly no fanatic, I hadn't noticed the same two teams are playing again. Now!

I've followed my lot from 9 points adrift at the bottom of the football league on new years day and seen us miss out on promotion by 4 points 3 months later, dodgy gangster style chairmen / owners, being locked out of our ground and even helped carry a coffin around the streets of hull with a tigers flag on it when we thought we were finished too all the way up to the so called promised land.  Played Arsenal, Spurs off the pitch at there place.  Scared the shite out of Manu and chelski and generally laughed at all the plastic muppets that supported a team 300 miles away from where they live then back down again.

The premiership is made up of 4 teams who could win it.
Maybe 2 or 3 wannabies and the rest are just there to make up the numbers  :(

If you want to watch good competive football with very few plastic fans then get your arse to a few championship games  :y
The best league in this country for proper football by far  ;)

Theres a lot to be said the highs and lows. Too many highs can be boring. Too many lows, is depressing, but the highs are twice as good. :)

We gave a good honest performance and were un-done i think by not having enough experience in the side. Fair play to the scum though they never gave up. Maybe next time  :y :y
