Hi Everyone, newbie signing in.
I've just bought an Omega 2.6 estate as a winter barge while my VX220 is in hibernation to tackle some minor jobs. I've run the VX over three winters now, but it isn't very pleasant when you have to chip ice off the inside of the windscreen and wear gloves just to change gear. This winter I will be looking forward to using the heated seats and having a heater capable of blowing more than tepid air.
While I expect to have to do some maintenance over the next few months, I think I got a lot of car for the mere £600 I paid for it as everything works as it should and barring an annoying rattle from the door lock button next to my right ear and a knock from somewhere on the drivers side suspension a wash and hoover out should see it as good as new.
My plan is to keep it over the winter until the VX hits the road again and then sell/scrap/give it to son but who knows every house needs a huge estate car and beside you can't put a mountain bike in VX220 ;D
