Worth taking the parcel shelf out and checking all connectors to the aerial amp are clean and good, might also be worth cleaning the inside of the glass.

2 things, as VXL V^ says.

Clean screen on the inside, but don't damage the element, and check 0v connections, which may have a higher PD across them with the extra current.

Visually check the element using a magnifying glass along its whole length. If the element is slightly damaged the current for the heating "may" be arcing across the damage, so upsetting the FM reception side of the element. Damage "may" be repairable using conducting paint applied very carefully.
