Title: New Omega owner - straight in with the problems!
Post by: Dink on 11 November 2012, 13:01:18
Hi all,

Have signed up as I've recently bought an Omega and of course am having some problems.

It's an R reg 2.5TD.

I've decided to do things properly so have bought the car with the dreaded fault code 64. Had I have found this site before purchasing I probably would have given it a miss! I have some ideas as to how to solve this though, am going to try the diesel magic trick first. If that fails I'm thinking it may be possible to make a box of electrickery to spoof the signal from the quantity control check sensor so the ECU thinks all is ok. The car drives fine except for the check engine light flashing and cutting the throttle under certain conditions.

The car also has 2 injectors leaking from the base. Am I right in thinking this is just a case of replacing the copper washer? As these are available very cheaply from my local diesel place.

The injectors that are leaking are numbers 1 and 4. Does anyone local to me perhaps have the tool for removing them that I could borrow in exchange for some beer?

Finally, this looks like a great forum and full of good info. Thanks to the creators and members for making it what it is.

Dave.

Hi, I'm new here and have had a brilliant surge of help and advice, as for your leaky injectors, My 2.2 petrol has a leaky injector and I was able to source the seals alone from my local dealer, the seals for all 4 injectors, 8 in total were about £25 inc VAT. I'm not sure of the cost for yours though.

I have had LMF Vauxhall in Loughborough recommended to me, and I have found a group on Facebook called Vauxhall world parts.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

I have now managed to sort out my injectors, see my thread in general help.

I got the sealing washers from a diesel specialist, Powerline diesel in Shipley at a cost of £5 for 3.
