What a day .....
It started off easily enough, # 1 son and GF up for weekend, so a nice lazy start after a good night on Saturday.
Went to church for the remembrance service with Son. Quite an emotional time as he is going back to Afghan in a week or so for his 3rd tour and we won't see him until he is back in the spring. A superb service in a packed church. National anthem sung at the end (both verses :y), a Bugler doing the Last Post and the bells being rung "half muffled". Very very nice indeed.
Then, back home for a fantastic roast lunch - where I decided against having my usual wine as I knew I'd nod off and waste the afternoon. That turned out to be a very wise move .......
Just as we had finished clearing up the lunch things the phone rings - MIL has been taken into hospital :(. Jump in the car and drive down to the Royal Free with an upset Wife & Daughter ...........
MIL is very poorly indeed but in good hands and likely to be there for at least a week. Visiting sorted over coming days with various rellys - so SWMBO is much more relaxed now. Didn't get home until gone midnight after a 280 mile return trip.
Fingers crossed as to how the week pans out .........
On top of all that the car proved to be difficult to start a couple of times - must check the codes as it's always starts first time.
Life eh .................. ::)

Thanks Steve - seems that she is much better this afternoon. She has had a lot of problems in recent years which all seem to have built up. What seemed like a simple case of a chest infection resulted in a blue light dash, loads of tests and a course of action which seemed to take 24 hours prior to any improvement. They reckon she will be in for about a week .....
