Title: Couple of issues on the new car
Post by: tobyd10 on 14 November 2012, 21:20:59
Hi, I've bought an Omega 2002 Elite estate and I have a couple of thing I need to sort that are all on the drivers side.
Firstly the remote locking is not working on the drivers door - could it be anything other than a motor in the door?
The electric seat doesnt work apart from the heated bit (passenger works fine) what could it be? Can I adjust the backrest manually until I fix it?
Also the drivers door doesnt set the interior light working - anything other than the switch?
Lastly, how do adjust the display - it has the xenon range warning on strat up(which i intend to look at the sensor things on the suspension) but have no idea how to clear that message as the original steroe has been replaced by a Michael Mouse radio.
Well that seems a list already - perhaps I should keep the Stilo Estate!
Cheers
Toby

Well after reading  more posts I went for the option of runaging under the seat and although there wasnt much space I found a loose lead. Another 5 mins of giggling and hey presto, fully working seat!

The message will disappear once the fault is fixed, but you can cancel it temporarily by pressing the top button on the wiper stalk :y it will come back every twenty mins or so...

OP says that original stereo has been replaced. If it was an NCDC unit then it would have used the steering wheel controls instead of the stalk :-\

Which button on the wheel would it have been as none seem to be making any difference?

OP has a GID, he cannot cancel message ;)

CDL - does the pin move, just not enough? Motor tired. Switch is replacable.

Seat - sorted :y

Steering wheel buttons control the NCDC radio/cd/navigation unit. NCDC unit controls the display.

If the NCDC unit is missing you will not be able to control the display :(

Not sure if The Boy has explained this elsewhere :-\

Three options
1 live with it
2 source a good (used) NCDC & paired graphic display (GID or CID)
3 fit a text display (MID or TID)
