Title: Diesel system and engine clean additive
Post by: Varche on 20 November 2012, 22:32:38
Went into my Spanish car parts place today. While I was waiting, my eye caught a one and a half litre tin of stuff you put in your tank to clean the engine, exhaust etc on a diesel car. Price was about 68 spanish squids so £55 in UK quids. That ruled me out straight away!! I thought it must be a trade buy to add to many customers cars. Err no, the whole lot in preferably a full tank. Then give the car a long journey, Italian tune up minimum revs 3000 for I think 60 miles. Use lower gears if you have speed limits.

I wish I could remember the name. One Two One maybe, Eumix? . Green and silver tin. And the writing was in English predominantly. I would make a great witness.....

Anyone know what it was and if it is any good?

Are the cheaper diesel additives any good? How often do folk on here use them?

If using lots of supermarket fuel, I used to put some Diesel Redex in my old tractor to reduce the smoking. About £2.50 a bottle from Costco (bought in a pack of 4).

Also, a bottle of diesel magic at each oil change.

Never have I had so many problems with cars, until I started adding additives. In fact all of the newer BMW's are Merc's, say on the filler cap, no additives. I think they're over commercialised sh1te.
