Title: pulling to one side
Post by: stevew43 on 21 November 2012, 15:38:34
my omega 2.2 cd is pulling to the left when i brake i have had the tracking checked and its fine also had discs and pads checked they are fine.no play or wobble in the wheels when it was on the ramps everything is solid. i had one front anti roll bar fitted in aug to get it through mot which it passed.so at the moment when i brake i have to correct the steering to the left and sometimes it stays like that for a while and then flicks back so the steering wheels is straight again very confused omega owner here anyone got any ideas what it could be . im wondering if on pad is not pushing on the disc so it feels like the wheel is not running straight i had to replace the left tyre as it was worn nearly bald on the out rim . i would be grateful for any advice or tips thanks

Have a look in FAQ, "steering and suspension", loads of knowledge in there.

Sounds like a sticky piston in the caliper to me. ;)

As already said .. first check is the brake system then ....

Tracking is just a tiny portion of what is needed on an Omega.

Get a decent mechanic to physically check, PROPERLY, all the suspension and steering components. A worn bush can move under braking and change the whole suspension/steering geometry.

The wear you describe could well be a wishbone bush.

Once CERTAIN that everything is good, a full geometry check may find a setting that is way out ... probably camber by the description of the wear on the left tyre.
