Title: Vectra B water leaking into boot
Post by: Tick Tock on 22 November 2012, 11:42:57
Hi All,

Mrs Tick Tock's 2.5 SRI Vectra (1999) is suffering with condensation on the inside of the windows (more noticable now with the changing weather and lots of rain). The carpet in the boot is damp, and more so when we've had heavy rain, but can't see where it's getting in.

Are there any common water ingress points on the back of these cars. Thought it might be leaking past the spoiler on the tailgate lid, but that seems fairly well seated, window and tailgate seals look good.....  any ideas or known common problems?

check the gaskets that are supposed to seal the rear lamp clusters to the body, mine leaked there but after adding silicone to the joint that stopped it :y

I second the above, had exactly the same problem and a bead of silicone sorts it :y
If this doesn't sort it, check the ariel if it is in the centre rear end of the roof, the rubber washers tend to rot - same on the Omega.... The silly cone sorts it :y
