Title: Engine fail to start 2.5 v6 petrol 1999 auto omega

Hi all my 2.5 v6 1999 petrol auto omega   has let me down ??   the fault 1st happed 3wks ago   turn key engine cranks wont start ?  loss of spark ? went back next night to fix it  and it starts ? ran for 3wks no faults no miss fire  1st class running . then saturday drove it all day no faults and sunday wont start ?   
The engine cranks the cam belts not snapped
i have no fuel pump running
i have no spark at the plugs
the ingnition park is good
ive tested the fuel pump it runs ive checked the fuel pump relays
the imobilizer seams to be off
any help would be good thanks

must be the dreaded crankshaft sensor on the way out :'(

Do paperclip test-get fault codes-Thats a start matey :y :y

If crank sensor=should get code 19-sometimes though you get no code ??? BUT check 1st :y Most on here will tell you do test 1st mate :y

will do a paer clip test and report back is there a link on here how to do it  and count the blinks??

hi thanks for replys   ive done the clip test   code 31 and 12  this is normal reports engine no rpm as exspected and 12=start of test ???
where is the crankshaft sensor located ?? i can see the canshaft sensor connections
what reading should i be getting from theses if i connect my multi meter to them (ie is it a pulse or a rise in voltage if they work like a mag pick up ? )
can any body reccomed how to test them please ??
just to top it off the gritters are out and temp is dropping its getting cool out side /

Crank Sensor on passenger side by oil filter-Put your location on mate-you could be on Mars for what we know-Maybe somebody here lives near you could help :y

trade, either £40 or £70 plus vat (fit genuine), depending on type
