Hi everyone, question mostly for those with ex-plod's just wondering if anyone knew the best way to run wires from the engine bay into the car?
I respond for the Ambulance Service, and they are now thinking about making us use amber lights for when we are parked on dark roads, and I was thinking about popping a couple into the grille if they decide we do need to use them.
Thanks Ben

.....
Although it's not easily spotted, there's a grommeted hole in the pollen filter housing below/near ( :-\) the loom that also passes through the bulkhead there. :y

There you go, he beat me to it....... I would be looking for a whole / space that is already there, possibly squeezing an extra wire through where some existing wires go, not done this on an Omega, pick up power supply and add switch in cab, you may need to use a relay.......... :) :)

Thanks guys, I have fitted plenty of emergency lights to cars before, (motorsport rescue) but never on an omega, there's loads of space by the grille so would be ideal for grille lights, but as I know a lot of you guys have ex plods I just wondered if there was anywhere ovious to run 4 small-ish wires through, I will have a look at the pollen filter housing and see what I can find. Thanks :y

As above :y
Glove box out along with the footwell kick panel and all will become obvious :y
Might help your fingers to pop the scuttle off as well...

That grommet is a bugger to cut as the rubber is so hard so probably best if drilled or stamped out with a bit of tubing? Also, don't forget to make it totally waterproof again afterwards or you'll flood the passenger footwell well before the scuttle is full if it ever gets blocked with leaves etc. :y

Welding rod or similar and follow the existing loom :y
Looks neater and is how the better plod cars are fitted out :y

On drive-by-wire cars there is a grommeted hole on the driver's side where the throttle cable used to be. I would have thought this would be the safest bet. Avoids the risk of damaging the rest of the loom while trying to poke wires through the main loom grommets.
