Title: Carpet Clips
Post by: Macduff on 28 November 2012, 19:22:19
Would anybody on OOf have any omega carpet clips/fasteners lying idle as I went to the stealers today to see if they had any. I was told they only come in bags of ten at a cost of £40 :o which to be honest is a touch much I only wanted 6 but if they sold them separately it would still cost £24 which is still more than I am prepared to pay. I know its probably a long shot but any help would be appreciated  :y

I bought a mat fixing kit last year for £3 from a VX dealer which consisted of plugs and worms type fixings as my car doesnt come with the plugs installed under the carpet. Have you tried andyc on here who works for VX?

Part number is 90397444. I think its a generic item for all VX (or for all cars). I'll post pictures of contents tomorrow.

Thanks .. but on the original OOF thread you quote, when I went to the dealers I was told these are for the cars with the floor fixings fitted - which I don't have....

Your second link is unclear if these are the same ...  :(

So I is confussed .. :)  I don't have the floor fittings, but I want to stop the mats walking ... SMD seemed to have a solution ... but now I don't know ... :(

Hi Entwood. My solution is as bigtimecube posted. I think your dealer is half right. The kit contains a few bits and I think some may be for cars with plugs already installed. The other look like they are for cars without. I have not fitted it yet so cant comment but maybe tunnie can comment?

Take a look back at the pics I posted. Are they the correct one? If not post a pic, and I'll enquire. It seems that a couple of euro each is the max - nearer 1 euro for some. Obviously postage on top, but worth enquiring.

Comparing your piccies on page one and SMD's piccies above .. they look very different to my old eyes .. :(

I tried that self adhesive velcro  .... useless .. OK  the two bits stuck to each other .. but neither bit stuck to the carpet or the back of the mat !!!

Now, if it was factory sewn on .. I expect it would work ... Smart idea ...  :)

Do you mean these? http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1280355346 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1280355346)

These are available from dealers, at least here  :D All Omegas should have the "counter-parts" as standard on the floor so you are only missing the "screws"?

Not all cars have them. My 98 CD had them but my 01 Elite doesn't and neither does Entwood.

Ok, then my proposal was not of any use. Seems to be one of the small differences inside ranges or between Opel/Vauxhall; all omegas I've seen have these.

Just to confirm, are there actually two types of fitting?
I know the 'flat' standard one, but I thought I had removed a domed style clip from my old car  :-\
