Any one know why my radio wont switch off, and if I disconnect the battery will the power sounder go off?
Need a quick answer as the radio is on loud and I'm probably annoying the neighbours. Just nipping outside to have another go, and will check back in 5 mins,
Cheers boys :y

What flavour is it? ::)

Not if you disconnect it within 15 secs of switching the ignition off. :y :y
It's in the manual ::)

Won't it turn down using either the radio's volume or the steering wheel controls?
-
Or should I just pull the fuse?

As the radio "should" switch off when the key is removed .. possibly that stupid little plunger thing at the bottom of the key slot is stuck ??
Try sticking the key in and out a dozen or so times?? maybe a little switch cleaner down the keyhole as well ??
Mind you .. I could be totally wrong ....

Will give it a go, although Its never switched off with the ignition since I've had it. Just another problem to add to the long list of faults since I got her 3 months ago :-[ I wish I still had my old one :'(

Sounds like someone has bypassed the ignition switch, perhaps to use the radio without the key....... :-\ :-\ Although iirc the Omega radio will work for an hour without the key, well in the pre facelift it would..... :y

You can toggle this on my radio ..... it's in the manual somewhere :y
I wish I still had my old one :'(
I've always said that ............ ::) ::)

My 2006 does this occasionally. Probably just a firmware bug in the radio. I'd ignore it unless it starts doing it regularly.

Difficult to ignore though if it is going full belt overnight..... ::) ::) ::)

Obviously pull the fuse when it plays up, or you'll have a flat battery too. ;)

Put the fuses back in this morning and all fine again, didn't even ask for the code, although computer had reset itself and it was New Years day 1999.... if only ;)
Still doesn't come on with ignition though :'(
Thanks again for all the help :y
