Months ago (well it was late Spring) I wanted a new thermometer - max and min. Saw just the digital thing from a Chinese seller. Huge and good feedback.
Allow five weeks for delivery.
After six weeks nothing, contacted seller and they said allow another two weeks. Still nothing. Thought about raising with Ebay BUT the rules say within so many days which had by now elapsed.
Contacted the seller and they said. We will send you another. BUt if the first arrives will you pay for both. Yes, no problem.
Five more weeks elapsed. nothing, give it two more weeks, nothing.
Contacted them and they said they would do a refund to Paypal. Never arrived. They claim they made the refund.
I am not going to lose sleep over it as it was just a few quid but we had the same thing from another seller this year.
So the sellers never get any bad feedback and Ebay aren't interested. Anyone else had this sort of experience or are we just unlucky? (it could be someone in Spain is pinching the packets?) Also out of interest how does their five week post system work. Container ship to a breakout point in Europe where the items get into the post system?

Yep, buy quite a lot of electronic bits from China. Not been let down by one yet although shipping can be slow.

I specifically look for ones that ship within 20 days, so I fit within egay's protection. Had a couple not turn up and had immediate refund.

??? Should that read 'ship within 2 days' ? 20 days means half of ebays 45 day feedback/case opening/etc. window is gone before the item has even been despatched.

brother lives in spain. if he does buy something on ebay it gets delivered to uk, then the old dear takes it over in the suitcase.

Found china and HK to be pretty good apart from 1 and that was for some cheap LED camp lanterns (thought they might be good in the event of a power cut) didnt get the 1st one he sent or the replacment he reckoned to have sent.
All I do now is mail/text the seller after 14 days for an update asking when item will arrive, then again after 21 days, if no responce to either I warn I might claim a refund, if still no reply I go for the refund, paypal are pretty good in this departmant, and any seller that does respond often offers a refund anyway.
Have had more trouble with UK sellers and moreso with the postal service but thats a story all on its own. :-\

Bought quite a few items from HK & China, mainly electronic. Only 1 issue with a faulty item from China - contacted seller via ebay, immediate reponse, no quibble and working replacement quickly received :y

No problems, just bought a NIKON camera bag, quite tidyand decently made, all for the pricely sum of£3.99 free pp.How can they make a profit at those price's.
The only thing was as I was waiting for it to arrive,Comet was having it's closeing down sale,so I bought one there as well discounted from £30 down to £9.00. Got home just as the postman was delivering the Hong Kong one. Sods Law or what.

:y It makes sense to have cut off point of waiting for delivery.
I've had a few things from Chinese ebayers and never had a problem.
One instance springs to mind where I purchased a clip-on visor for an open face motorcycle helmet, so it wasn't something that could be slipped in a jiffy bag. I paid on Sunday evening and it was delivered Friday morning. :o

I have ordered loads of stuff from Honk Kong and China and have never had a problem to date. I always go for airmail and pay extra for tracking if it does not add much to the postage total.
I tend to avoid those that are much cheaper than other suppliers from their country, as I have seen a few of these come, complaints appear and then they disappear.

Me too, had a few items over the years, never a problem........ :y :y
