Title: increased car tax

I have a (april2001) 2.6 omega which is taxed until31/3/2009..Does anyone know if I put my car off the road as from 1/2/2009 and reclaimed my tax,then retaxed it as from 1/3/2009 if I would only pay £210?

I would think so! If you can be without the car for a month it sounds like a plan!

yes, providing the application for your tax refund is successful, which i think is likely but i'm not certain. my pal Jamie asked me yesterday since his 02 lexus is the same. my omega tax is up end of jan 2009 meaning it'll be £210(ish, its on LPG) til i re-tax in jan 2010

have a look on DVLA website to find out whether they'd happily refund that couple of months.

They will refund any complete months... I know because I claimed SWMBO's tax back yesterday when I scrapped her car! :)
