Title: Even more banker bashing
Post by: STMO123 on 12 December 2012, 15:59:18
Did anyone watch 'How safe is your cash' earlier this week.?

Apparently, when you receive your new credit/debit card and it has a sticker on it to 'activate' your card, you get straight through to CPP, a rather unsavoury company that sells CC insurance. And....get this....the bank gets a large part of your premium should you choose to buy.

Bastuds never stop trying to diddle you.

The other side of the coin, which doesnt make for good headlines these days......
A new womens refuge for battered women is just about to open in Hackney. One of the fund raisers paid a visit to the square mile yesterday. She went into one of the financial institiutions and asked on reception if she could leave a collection tin there for people to make donations if they wished.A quick phone call was made and then a manager appeared and took her straight up to the trading floor.
Every single person made a substantial donation from their wallets and purses,no coins involved. The women thought Christmas had come early as she saw all this money being given to her.She was then advised that city workers and companies are highly competitive so she should go to all the other banks and trading houses and tell them how much she had collected from the first one,and they would probably all try to outdo one another.
Its going to be a good Christmas at Hackney Womens refuge this year. ;)

All born evil ? Yeah right. ::)

They can afford it. They'll always have a job when we (the taxpayer) bail them out. :)

There's a merchant banker on panorama at 9 tonight. Lost his house and is living rough in the park.

Never mind, Albs will put him up in the spare room. :y

Btw,the bank concerned, like most banks hasnt taken a penny of taxpayers money. It isnt a British bank, but it hasnt taken any money from its own government either. ;)
Its home country hasnt been in recession for many years,so the problem didnt arise. ;)

The ignorant vindictiveness of a socialist. At least capitalists are upfront, socialists' feather their own nests (nothing wrong with that), whilst preaching to everybody else.

You could just say no to CPP. A large part of our economy is selling, goods, services, insurance and financial products, the taxation from which keeps this country going. Stick that in your pipe (bought from a private sector profit making tax paying firm) and smoke it.

seems like the meaning of word socialist is bent and understood  as a mixture fascist/capitalist by some...

for those interested socialist means the one interested with masses benefit , instead of worshipping capital..

No cem, it seems you've completely misunderstood my post. I'm obviously referring to the op as a socialist, not the banker featured in the program. Obvious really.

I'm not a socialist. Nor am I ignorant or vindictive. I merely think that bankers should be shot in front of their families....and you along with them ;D

I've always though stupid people shouldn't be mocked, only the ones who are proud of their stupidity.

Is that your true colours coming out then? When are you moving to Cuba?

You're more than welcome to come to Sunderland and try. I've been shot at, blown up, beaten up, bricked, you name it already. I'm sure I can deal with you. You're a proper little keyboard warrior. I could be nasty, it'd be too easy, but I'm better than you.

And we know that, yeah? Why is it often assumed that when a person works for a bank, or any financial institution, they are rich.
There are many, many finance institutions making redundencies around here. Almost every month, you hear of one more company having to do it. I have friends who have been made redundant. It certainly ain't as easy as the "non-banker" believes.

I think people are taking things a bit too literally on this thread. Opti will wind you up if you let him. ;D

'Bankers', in most peoples mind, are the fat cats at the top, not the tellers or branch managers. No one, well not me anyway, would wish for a hard working person who works in a bank (not a banker) to lose their job.

I've always maintained that "Fred the shred Goodwin" is a great bloke and worth every penny he was paid. The world of banking could do with more thoroughly decent chaps like him. :)

I sincerely hope that wasn't him sleeping rough on Panorama last night. :)

I have pointed out to him many times that he might want to specify that he is refferring to the "fat cats" right at the top who have arse kissed their way up the greasy pole and are then obviously clueless once they get there etc.Basically, the very few who to a certain extent cocked things up for the many.
But,no,apparently when he says bankers he means anyone who works in a bank (or at least in the square mile). ;)
The politics of envy doesnt have room for reason or logic you see. ::)

So you can put other peoples money where your mouth is and shoot me, or are you hiding behind your computer?

Luckily for me I'm not fat or a makem, unfortunately though for every being that has ever, and will ever have dealings with you, you're an odious, ignorant, pig headed, jealous, thick bloody idiot. The more people there are like you though, the easier it is for me.

It's exactly as Albs says, the politics of envy. I would've thought with modern enlightenment, access to information and education, there wouldn't be as many people with their head still stuck up their arses like you. Labour have made fools out of all of you. You can swim in your own shit pit of self pity though, it's what you deserve, whereas other people work to get on, not expecting their arses wiped by the state from cradle to grave.

If socialists' had their way we'd all be on 365 days a year paid holiday. Perhaps that's their end goal, they've done a good job so far, and now it's Cameron's turn to balance things a little. It's disappointing though so far, he's been very lenient on all the blood suckers.

I was going to sit and write a considered reply to your post Geoff, but I can't be arsed. You are an ignorant, shouty tosser who thinks that an agressive, insulting style of posting will either make people agree with you or shut up. Not me big boy.
You say that you have been beaten up, bricked, firebombed, shot, garotted and decapitated. I'm not surprised.

This might be a good time to back off & cool down lads. Whatever the rights & wrongs, it is getting out of hand! If we can't be civil with each other and discuss matters in an adult manner then we should perhaps keep our thoughts to ourselves? :-\

Far Cough you, i'm as delicate as a blunt chisel, as for the rest....it'll do you good to let the 'genteel' side of your nature have free rein for a while ;D
